Purim
Over the last two weeks we discussed the story of Purim. We learned some new vocabulary words like: King , Queen, palace, throne, sceptor, etc. We decorated our own palaces and we saw so many pictures of real palaces where real Kings and Queens live. What big , fancy houses Kings and Queens live in! We decorated our own purim character puppets to be able to tell you the story of Purim by ourselves:) . We learned some purim songs, and we used the king and queen outfits to dress up in our own classroom while telling over the purim story. We spoke about different emotions happy, sad, angry, shy and other descriptive words like KIND esther, MEAN Haman, WISE Mordechai etc...

Library trip and Book fair!
We went to the book fair and we all chose our own new book!
We had a great time at the library today! First the librarian brought us into a room where she read some interesting books with us that included props and music! We all participated so beautifully.

We read the book " 5 little monkeys" |
We then went upstairs and read books |
Hat Day!
We all enjoyed our Rosh Chodesh assembly on Monday. We each had a turn to show off our hats.
In the spirit of the Jewish month of ADAR we put on music and danced around:)

Community Helpers - Baker
We sang the song:
Tune: "Do you know the muffin man"
Do you know the Baker man the Baker man, the Baker man?
Do you know the baker man? He bakes the bread (or cookies or challah or cakes etc ) for us!
We have pictures in our classroom of all the different things that are made and sold in a bakery.
We have a miniature Baker in our room.
We decorated our own Baker hats with stickers and used our baker hats while we made cookies.
We poured in the ingredients |
We mixed the ingredients |
We each chose cookie cutter shapes |
We shaped our cookies and put them on a tray to bake. |
When our cookies were ready and out of the oven we decorated them with YELLOW icing.
YUM!! We enjoyed them at our Shabbos party!
We even went to visit a bakery.
We saw their BIG machines that they use for mixing behind the counter! It was taller than most of us:) |
